WhatsApp has a file-sharing limit of 64MB file size and any file greater than this can’t be shared on the messenger. But there are cases when some urgent large files need to be shared, and in this scenario, some tricks can come in handy to share these large video files on Whatsapp. We can use some cloud services like Google Drive to directly share any size of files over Whatsapp.

Methods to share large files on WhatsApp:

Following are the steps that will help you in sharing large files on WhatsApp messenger :

Method 1: Share Files via Google Drive

Instead of sharing large files directly on WhatsApp, a better way is to use a third-party cloud service like Google Drive to upload and share files on WhatsApp. You can store many large files in any format, such as audios, videos, etc. and then share it with anyone. However, it does have a drawback. This method will not exactly share the file but the link of the file. The receiver can look at the file through the link and then the file can be downloaded.

Given below are all the steps to share large files on WhatsApp via Google Drive:

Step 1: Upload the intended file to Google Drive.

Step 2: Hover onto the top right corner and tap on Share.

Step 3: Once done, click on the “Get shareable link” option on the top right of the “Share with others” option.

Step 4: Now select the accessibility restriction (if a person can view, comment, or edit the file), using the Down arrow next to “Anyone with the link.”

Step 5: A file link will be copied to your clipboard. Paste the link on your WhatsApp chat to share your file with anyone.

Method 2: Using We Transfer

WeTransfer is the best tool that aids in sharing a link to your files with anyone. It is quite easy to use and you can even share large files of any kind of file format. Where the free version allows you to upload files up to 2GB, the paid version helps you to share up to 20 GB of file size.

Given below are all the steps to transfer via WeTransfer:

Step 1: Open the WeTransfer website. Tap on Add Files. Find the respective files that you want to upload and click on open.

Step 2: Once you are done with adding files, click on the “Get a link” button to get the required link.

Step 3: You can copy the link and paste it on your WhatsApp chat to share it with your contacts.

Method 3: Using Wondershare Uni-converter

Step 1: Download Wondershare Uni-converter

The first step that you will need to follow is to download the wondershare uni-converter. It is a wonderful application that will help you to share even files of size 10GB or more quickly.

This application is also completely safe to use and download and does not require much storage or permissions. You can download it on your laptop or PC easily for both Windows and macOS.

Step 2: Add video

After downloading the application, all you need to do is add the large video you want to share to Wondershare uni-converter. Doing this is very simple and quick.

Once you have installed the application on your device, you will find a plus sign after opening the app. The Add Files button will appear in the center of the screen. Click on it, and your gallery will show up. Then, select the video from your gallery that you want to share.

Step 3: Select the file format

The next step that you will need to follow up is to select the format for the added video. To do this, click on the settings icon that will open a drop-down menu.

From there, you can select the device option that you want and can also select the video format easily. You will be ready to move onto the next step once you have selected the format.

Step 4: Additional Customization

The next thing you will need to do is find the compress icon from the target tab. From there, you can choose the resolutions, file size, and button to compress your video. This will make the video smaller in size without losing its quality.

Step 5: Convert and compress

Once you are done with fixing the resolutions and file size, you can click on the convert option that will show up right next to the file. You can also look at the bottom to find the “start all” option in order to compress the file.

Your file will now be of the desired size and resolutions and will be perfectly ready to share. After doing this, you will be ready to follow the final step of sharing the file on WhatsApp messenger.

Step 6: Transfer it to the mobile phone

You can share the file to your mobile phone after you are done converting and compressing the file. You can use a USB cable for this purpose or use applications like “JioShare” to share the file from your PC to your mobile device.

You can also use the WhatsApp web and directly send the file to the person you wanted to without transferring it to your mobile phone.
